Ambassadors
"I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." -Psalms 84:10
Ambassador Role Description
Ambassadors are liturgical ministers who serve as the welcoming presence of our parish community. Formerly known as ushers and greeters, Ambassadors help create a warm, inviting environment for all who come to Mass and other liturgical celebrations.
As the first and last ministers people encounter, Ambassadors play an important role in hospitality—offering a friendly smile, a welcoming greeting upon arrival, and a kind farewell at the end of Mass.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting parishioners and visitors with warmth and hospitality
- Assisting individuals and families in finding seating
- Helping with the collection and attendance counting
- Answering questions and guiding people to information or resources
- Distributing bulletins and assisting those interested in joining the parish
Through their presence and service, Ambassadors help ensure that every person who walks through our doors feels seen, welcomed, and at home.
Requirements
The requirements of the Ambassador are:
- Registered Member of the Parish Family
- No age or sacrament requirement. If not Catholic should be working towards it.
- If married, an ambassador should be Sacramentally Married in the Catholic Church. If not, they should be encouraged to work towards it.
- Participating Catholic (attends mass every Sunday and makes regular Confession) with a prayerful devotion to the Liturgy and Eucharist.
- May serve as Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion or Altar Server, but not at the same Mass.
- Attend required training in each parish as needed.
