“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor… to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free.”
— Luke 4:18
Called to Bring Christ’s Love Beyond Our Walls
As members of Parish Family 52, we strive to become holy disciples who respond to God’s abundant gifts by practicing faithful stewardship of our time, talent, and treasure. Discipleship is not passive; it is a grateful response that moves us to action. Because the Lord has blessed us, we in turn are called to bring Christ’s Love beyond our walls—to witness with our lives, our words, and our service.
Every Catholic shares this mission. The Gospel is not meant to stay inside the church; it is meant to be carried into our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods. We are sent to the margins: to the poor and the needy, the elderly and the homebound, the lonely and the overlooked, and those contemplating abortion or facing any difficult circumstance. Our presence, our listening, and our concrete acts of care proclaim Christ’s mercy more powerfully than words alone.
Let us answer this call with courage and joy. Simple, everyday gestures—checking on a neighbor, offering a ride to Mass, mentoring a teen, visiting the sick, accompanying mothers and families in need, serving at a food pantry—become living homilies of hope.
