Saint of the Week: Saint Conrad of Piacenza Saint Conrad wasn’t always a hermit. He was born into wealth and nobility in 13th-century Italy. But after a tragic hunting accident led to an innocent man being blamed, Conrad stepped forward, accepted responsibility, and chose a radically different life. He gave up everything... status, comfort, security... and embraced a life of prayer, penance, and solitude. What began as repentance became a life completely centered on God. Saint Conrad reminds us that our past does not define us. Conversion is real. Change is possible. And holiness often begins with taking responsibility. It’s never too late to begin again. Saint Conrad of Piacenza, pray for us.

Saint of the Week: Sts. Cyril & Methodius Sts. Cyril and Methodius were 9th-century brothers from Thessalonica who became missionaries to the Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe. Gifted in languages and deeply devoted to the Church, they believed that the Gospel should be preached in a way people could truly understand. To make this possible, they developed an alphabet (which later became Cyrillic) so that Scripture and the liturgy could be translated into the local language. Their work allowed entire nations to encounter Christ more deeply and participate fully in the life of the Church. Despite opposition and hardship, they remained faithful to both Rome and the Eastern Churches, becoming powerful symbols of unity. Sts. Cyril and Methodius remind us that evangelization requires courage, creativity, and a heart for unity. Sts. Cyril and Methodius, pray for us.

Saint of the Week: St. Agatha St. Agatha lived in 3rd-century Sicily and was martyred for her faith during a time of intense persecution of Christians. From a young age, she consecrated her life to Christ and refused to abandon her faith or her commitment to live for Him alone. When she resisted the advances of a powerful Roman official, Agatha was imprisoned and subjected to severe suffering. Despite cruelty and humiliation, she remained steadfast, trusting God completely even in the face of death. St. Agatha is remembered as a powerful witness to dignity, courage, and unshakable faith. Her life reminds us that true freedom and strength come from belonging to Christ, even when faith demands sacrifice. St. Agatha, pray for us.

St. John Bosco was a 19th-century Italian priest who dedicated his life to the care and education of poor and neglected young people. Growing up in poverty himself, he understood the struggles of working-class youth and believed that holiness was possible for everyone, especially the young. Known for his joy, patience, and deep trust in God, Don Bosco founded the Salesians and developed an approach to youth ministry centered on reason, religion, and loving kindness. He believed that young people thrive when they are loved, guided, and given purpose. St. John Bosco reminds us that holiness is not harsh or gloomy. It is joyful, practical, and lived out in everyday faithfulness. St. John Bosco, pray for us.

Today is the feast of St. Agnes! St. Agnes lived in Rome in the early 4th century and was martyred for her faith while still very young. Though pressured to renounce Christ and conform to the expectations of her time, Agnes refused. She chose fidelity to Christ over comfort, safety, and approval. Her name means “lamb,” a symbol of innocence and sacrifice, and she has long been honored as a witness to purity, courage, and unwavering faith. Even in the face of persecution, Agnes remained calm and resolute, trusting her life completely to God. St. Agnes reminds us that sanctity is not measured by age or strength, but by faithfulness. Her witness continues to inspire young people to live with conviction and courage. St. Agnes of Rome, pray for us.

Had an awesome time just chilling and painting at youth group last night. God's greatest creations making beautiful creations. For those who missed it, we'll have another some day, but for now join us in a couple weeks for our next youth night! And I hope y'all are having a great summer!

This is a big question that gets brought up all the time. It's okay to struggle with some of the teachings of the Church, and if I didn't do a good enough job explaining this teaching I'd encourage you to go look more into it and read what the church teaches from the source! Peace and Joy Y'all!

Did you know this? Look up the rites of the church to learn more! My favorite is the Maronite Church! Eventually we'll take a field trip to another rite of the Church! Keep praying and growing closer to God! Peace!
